AARON MCKENZIE FRASER grew up in small town New Brunswick with a mother whose penchant for antiques, estate auctions, vintage clothing stores, and knick nacs fuelled his urge for the old and worn. Aaron’s obsession grew for objects and spaces that reflect design elements from the 1950’s, 60’s, and 70’s. Thus, his photographs express an aged quality and high contrast. He holds a Multi-Media Design and Production Diploma from EBCI College, Moncton, NB (1999), and a Photography Diploma from Algonquin College (2001). He is also the founding member of the Mercury Vapour Collective (2000). His work has been exhibited in Ottawa at SAW Gallery, The Atrium Gallery, The Ottawa School of Art Gallery, Artguise Gallery, and in Halifax at the eyelevel gallery. Aaron is represented locally by Toxic Gallery – Contemporary Photography, and is a member of the Canadian Association of Photographers and Illustrators in Communications. Presently, he works as a commercial and editorial photographer for local, national, and international clients and publications.
